A trio of Kansas City Chiefs have earned First-Team All-Pro honors for the 2023 NFL season, including two first-time selections and a repeat selection. The team had no players earn Second-Team All-Pro honors this season.
Honors as voted by the Associated Press are those officially recognized by the NFL. This was the second year for the AP’s new voting system, where voters are asked to apply first-team and second-team votes to players. A first-team vote is worth three points, and a second-team vote is worth just one point.
Here's a quick rundown of the Chiefs players who have earned First-Team All-Pro honors this season:
Defensive Tackle: Chris Jones

2023 marked Jones’ fourth season with 10 or more sacks, finishing the year with 10.5 sacks, earning a $1.25 million sack incentive in his contract. Jones led the Chiefs in pressures, despite missing the Week 1 game against the Lions. This is Jones’ second career First-Team All-Pro selection and the second consecutive season as such. Jones is now halfway to earning another $1 million contract incentive. His reworked deal includes an incentive for First-Team All-Pro AND appearing in the Super Bowl.
Left Guard: Joe Thuney

Shockingly, this is Thuney’s first career First-Team All-pro honors. He’s twice been selected as a Second-Team All-Pro (2019 & 2022). He finished the 2023 NFL season with PFF’s best pass-blocking grade by a guard (83.4). With nearly 1,100 snaps played, Thuney allowed 33 pressures, two sacks and two penalties on the season.
Slot Corner: Trent McDuffie

McDuffie earns a First-Team All-Pro selection for the first time in his young career. He’s one of 14 first-timers selected. While McDuffie is still chasing his first career interception, he led all cornerbacks in total pressures this season with 16 pressures, including three sacks. He also had ball production in other ways with five forced fumbles on the year.
This is the first time since 2019 that the Chiefs have seen defensive players outnumber offensive players in terms of First-Team All-Pro selections.
Unfortunately, it appears All-Pro voters overlooked Chiefs CB L'Jarius Sneed, just as Pro Bowl voters did. His coaches and teammates won't be too thrilled about that, but Sneed will just put his head down and get right back to work ahead of this playoff run.
