The Philadelphia Eagles' nightmare before the playoffs has become a reality: wide receiver A.J. Brown has been ruled out by the team, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
While not necessarily surprising, the Eagles seemed to be holding out hope to get Brown out there on the playing field to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brown missed back-to-back practices ahead of Monday Night Football.
The injury is a serious deal for the Eagles offense as it's been a significantly inconsistent unit during their 1-5 run to close out the season.
In a way, it's fair to say the Eagles offense boils down to running inside zone and taking deep shots, which at times is viable football when you've got Brown going up for the ball and speedster DeVonta Smith playing as the No. 2.

It's on the coaching staff that has struggled without last year's coordinators to show they've got what it takes to adjust for a do-or-die football game.
And let's be honest, the Bucs aren't exactly a playoff juggernaut so it's on Philly to squash any doubts about who they are as an NFL team.
