The Miami Dolphins aren't taking any chances with their season on the line.  With the way things have gone with their edge rushers lately, that's a wise philosophy.

The Dolphins called up edge rusher Malik Reed from the practice squad on Saturday, along with CB Ethan Bonner.

The Dolphins signed Reed this week to bolster their pass rush, along with two other experienced veterans in Justin Houston and Bruce Irvin.  Reed was added to the practice squad, while Houston and Irvin were signed to the active roster.  Melvin Ingram, who had been on the practice squad for most of his time with the Dolphins since signing in December, was added to the active roster earlier in the week.

So the Dolphins will rely upon a very old but experienced group of pass rushers to try to get to Patrick Mahomes. However, while Houston and Irvin have had to learn the Dolphins' defense in a very short time, Reed at least has some familiarity, having been with the Dolphins in the 2023 training camp and preseason before being released as part of final roster cuts.

The Dolphins and Chiefs kick off at 8:00 pm ET from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
