The recent saga involving Kansas City Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney continues to get weirder than it already was.

Shortly ahead of the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens, audio of Kadarius Toney was broadcast on Instagram Live. That audio seemed to suggest that the Chiefs were lying about his injury status over the past six weeks, during which he'd been held out due to hip and ankle injuries.

Andy Reid has since responded on the matter. Travis Kelce was also asked about it this week. Now we're finally hearing from Toney himself and what he has to say about the situation is shocking. He claims that the clip was digitally altered to make it seem as if he was attacking the ones he loves. Toney posted the following message on his Instagram story.

Toney's response seems to suggest that he has copies of the recordings that were altered. Some have suggested that this clip was from his time with the New York Giants. It would make sense that he wouldn't want to post the clips and drag up old business like that.

We're currently living in a day and age where it's entirely possible that the audio could have been digitally altered using AI technology. If this is the case, the NFL and the NFLPA must investigate the situation thoroughly. Understandably, he's frustrated by the image this is currently painting. Unfortunately for Toney, given his history, it feels as if the damage is already done here in the public sphere. What has been made abundantly clear by his team and his teammates is that they support him and the only things that matter are what happens inside of the building in Kansas City.
