Philadelphia Eagles longtime center Jason Kelce has been very open about potentially retiring after the 2023-24 season.
Rumors and reports circulated earlier this week that an emotional Kelce announced his retirement in the locker room following his team's 32-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, Kelce shut down those rumors on the latest "New Heights" podcast episode where he said that he wasn't ready to announce his decision just yet — especially after a devastating playoff loss.
It was a sigh of relief for many Eagles fans, though Kelce still didn't confirm whether or not he would officially return next fall.
But on Friday, Jason's brother and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce, gave Eagles fans a glimpse of hope that they could use right now.
As the Chiefs prepare to take on the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs, Kelce spoke to the media and offered insight into his brother's potential retirement.
"Yeah, it came out he retired and he didn't really say any of that," Kelce said. "The end of that game, everybody kind of felt for him knowing that he has been thinking about it a lot over the past couple of years. The documentary shows that you don't need to go around and ask anybody.
"It's been cool to see everybody appreciate who he's been over the last couple of years this past week, but I think the big guy's still got some football left [in him] if he wanted to."
The Chiefs kick off this Sunday and since the Eagles are out of the playoff race, Jason may or may not be in attendance to watch Travis play in person.
“That’s one of the beauties of the offseason,” he told reporters on Thursday. “It’s unscheduled. Obviously, my brother is still in the playoffs. I don’t get to watch him very often. Maybe I’ll get an opportunity to go watch one of those games this week."
