The Kansas City Chiefs will get a chance to earn the namesake trophy of their franchise founder once again.

With a 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round, the Chiefs have advanced to the AFC Championship Game for a sixth consecutive season. In his six seasons as a starting quarterback, Patrick Mahomes has never known anything other than playing in the AFC title game.

Only Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, who played in a record eight straight AFC title games from 2011–2018, have more consecutive appearances than Mahomes' Chiefs teams. If they keep this party rolling, they could be looking at a tie in just a few years.

Things will, of course, be different for Kansas City, as they're not hosting the game in GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for the first time in the past six seasons. The game will be played against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 3:00 p.m. ET.

The Chiefs quieted doubters when they defeated the Bills on the road at Highmark Stadium in the divisional round. It was the first road playoff game of Mahomes' career, yet it didn't make a difference. He was unflappable against a hostile Buffalo crowd, we'll see how he does in another hostile environment in Baltimore.
