The AFC North ran through Baltimore in 2023 with a Ravens team that was very good during the regular season and looked unbeatable at times.
However, things are trending toward them losing a key part of their team. That will be not only welcomed news to the Cleveland Browns but everyone else in the division and on their schedule next season.
Now that Baltimore is out of the playoffs, things are heating up when it comes to their defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald potentially leaving.
Macdonald is receiving heavy interest from the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders for their head coach openings. According to Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks would have waited until after the Super Bowl if needed to interview the coordinator. That shows that they are willing to wait very late into the process for their potential hire, far after most teams who have hired new coaches.
In 2023, the Browns had an elite defense that was at the top of the league. Unfortunately for Cleveland, Baltimore was right there and they saw that in their Week 4 game Cleveland scored just three points in.
If the AFC North gets to watch Macdonald leave a Ravens team that allowed just 13.5 points per game in 2023, they’ll be plenty okay with that.
