The Miami Dolphins are set to interview Baltimore Ravens assistant head coach Anthony Weaver for their defensive coordinator opening, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini.
The Dolphins have been on the lookout for a new defensive coordinator since they parted ways with Vic Fangio earlier this month. Fangio served as Dolphins defensive coordinator for a mere one season. Miami notched a 23.0 points per game allowed average in the regular season this year, and it ranked 10th in the NFL in total yards allowed per game with a 318.3 average.
Weaver has also garnered head coaching interest this month. He touched base with the Atlanta Falcons regarding their head coaching opening, but they ultimately decided to hire now-former Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris for the role.
Weaver has also met with the Washington Commanders twice for their head coaching vacancy.
Weaver joined Baltimore in Jan. 2021 as both a defensive line coach and run game coordinator. He has since helped to get the best out of multiple Ravens defensive linemen, including defensive tackle Justin Madubuike, who led the team in sacks (13.0) this year.
