The New Orleans Saints have far from decided on what position to draft in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. That being said, offensive line will be on the table.

Star OT Ryan Ramczyk has injury concerns for his future, and the other tackle spot is undecided going forward. They may bring back Andrus Peat to fill that role, but that is not a given. Young tackle Trevor Penning was believed to be a future starter when drafted, but he has not been able to stay on the field.

Accordingly, OT may be a smart route to go if the board falls a certain way for New Orleans in April.

Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga will be a first-round selection, and he would fit what the Saints like at tackle. He is currently dominating at Senior Bowl practices.

These reps come against some of the other top talent in the draft. Many of the most well known prospects attend the Senior Bowl and put extra tape on display for NFL teams.

Fuaga recorded an ultra-impressive rep against arguably the top pass rusher in the class, UCLA's Laiatu Latu, on Tuesday morning.

Fans may not get particularly excited about another first-round selection spent on the OL, but it may be necessary. The line played much better in the second half of the season in 2023, and Derek Carr's numbers improved, too. That is no coincidence.

We'll see if Fuaga becomes a likely option by the time the first round rolls around. Don't count him out for New Orleans.
