Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown ignored reporters for two weeks during the regular season and swiped his social accounts of anything Philly-related.
The media immediately chalked Brown's actions up to him being unhappy with the Eagles franchise and wanting a trade.
Brown, alongside his partner in crime DeVonta Smith, joined the "Up and Adams" show on Wednesday where they addressed the trade rumors and more.
The two started to laugh when Adams brought up the trade speculation.
"I don't know. Maybe they know something I don't know," Brown said. "I kinda been through this before. I'm a vet. I'll remain quiet. If something happens I'll be waiting by the phone and if not, I'll be right here."
Adams pointed out how fans noticed how he scrubbed his social media accounts and asked if he was happy with the organization.
"That had nothing to do with football. That's me trying to grow as a person," Brown said. "Block out any negativity. As you can see, that [trade talk] is one of the reasons why."
At the end of the show, Adams asked Brown one more time to clear the air on trade rumblings.
Smith chimed in, "He ain't going nowhere."
Brown paused.
And then said, "Kay, I’m not really worried about it. If it is, I don’t know. I think you just have to be prepared. It’s a business at the end of the day and I’m just trying to handle it the best way I can.”
The Eagles would be silly to trade their No. 1 wideout away, who is coming off a 2023 season where he set a new NFL benchmark of six-straight games of 100-plus receiving yards or more and broke a franchise record for most receiving yards (1,456) and receptions (106).
But despite what Brown says, one does have to wonder if he is actually unhappy with Nick Sirianni and the front office because before he was traded to Philly from Tennessee, he had deleted all Titans content off of his social media accounts.
Or maybe it was Brian Johnson who he wasn't happy with and the addition of new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore changes everything.
Eagles should consider drafting Hall of Famer Jerry Rice’s son
Not a bad idea.
