The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed defensive end Brandon Graham to a one-year deal this past free agency and at 35 years old, he's still making big plays for the Birds.
Just this past Sunday against NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys, Graham took down Dak Prescott on crucial back-to-back plays in the fourth quarter with under three minutes to go.
Graham, who has been on a pitch count, proved he still has juice left in him and the Eagles will be able to take advantage of that as they enter the second half of their season.
But other than making big plays in limited playing time, Graham also brings an infectious personality and leadership to the locker room, which is needed with such a relatively young roster.
"It's like seeing your uncle make plays, man," Eagles' defensive tackle Jordan Davis said. "Since I've got here from the jump, he's always been there. His energy is infectious. You could see it.
"Once BG got that thing started, it all dropped from there. BG man, I love him like a God damn uncle. It's just nice to have him around and see him make plays and see him keep doing this stuff. He's been here for what? 14 years? I'm proud to know him. I'm proud to play alongside him. He's still continuing his thing."
Sure, his full-time playing days may be over, but he remains a huge part of this Eagles defense … 14 years later.
"He's such an important part of this football team," Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said after Week 9's win over Dallas. "The player, the person, the leader, the captain. When he makes a play like he did today, I promise you everybody feeds off of that and everybody feels that because our guys are so excited when he makes a play."
Eagles’ biggest need at midseason
Now is the time for the Eagles to make adjustments.
