Josh Dobbs referenced one of the Tennessee Vols football program's oldest traditions on Wednesday while speaking with reporters ahead of the Minnesota Vikings' upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints.

Dobbs, who led the Vikings to a win against the Atlanta Falcons last week despite joining the team just a couple of days before the game, was asked by a reporter about ball security when he takes off running.

The former Vol referenced the first of General Robert Neyland's seven game maxims while talking about ball security.

"We gotta take care of the ball," said Dobbs. "Tennessee maxim, the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win. That usually comes down to the team with the fewest amount of turnovers usually wins the game. If you're taking care of the ball, you're playing good football. If you're playing good football, you're usually winning games. So at the end of the day, you gotta take care of the football."

It seems like Dobbs always finds a way to reference his time at Tennessee when he meets with the media (he even brought up the Florida/Tennessee rivalry after the Vikings' win last Sunday).

There's no doubt that Dobbs is a VFL in every sense of the phrase.
