Former Tennessee Vols standout drafted in second round won’t be on the field for the start of NFL training camp
The former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman won’t be quite ready to go for the start of Kansas City Chiefs training camp.
Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott, a second round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft, won’t be on the field for the start of NFL training camp.
The Kansas City Chiefs placed Norman-Lott on the Active/PUP list on Saturday.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Friday that he expected Norman-Lott to land on the PUP list.
“(Omarr) Norman-Lott most likely will start on PUP, but he’s making progress,” said Reid. “He had the ACL reconstruction there. … Big guys with the ACLs, it takes a little bit of time to get them back and fully strengthened up and ready to go.”
Reid added that he expects Norman-Lott to return to the field at some point during training camp.
“Whether it’s during training camp or sometime during training camp, potentially he’ll be out there,” said Reid. “But I think we’ve just got to keep the strength part of it coming with him.”
Norman-Lott tore his ACL in Week 7 last season in a game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Players on the PUP list can’t practice, but they can attend team meetings and rehab with the training staff on the sideline.
