The Miami Dolphins' 2023 season has hit the midpoint, as the team uses a much-needed bye week to try to get healthy in some key areas.

That, ironically, is the thing the Dolphins need far more than anything: simply to get healthy.  And that is especially the case on the team's offensive line.

It's been an adventure for Mike McDaniel since week 1, as starters have fallen and been replaced.  LT Terron Armstead missed the season opener against the Chargers with a knee injury sustained in the preseason.  Kendall Lamm has stepped in admirably in his absence.

However, its' been the interior of the offensive line that's been a complete and total hot mess for the Dolphins.  Connor Williams suffered a groin injury against Denver that's kept him out of 4 games.  Isaiah Wynn has been on injured reserve since October 24 after suffering a quad injury against the Eagles.  Robert Hunt missed last week with a hamstring injury.  And even reserve guard Robert Jones, who started the season on injured reserve, suffered a knee injury against the Chiefs last week.  It's been an incredible string of terrible luck for Miami's interior linemen that perhaps only the New York Giants could rival this season.

There are other areas of need where the Dolphins could stand for some alterations.  Having a quality backup or two along the defensive line would be extremely nice, as the drop off after Zach Sieler and Christian Wilkins is pretty staggering.

But there's no question that being able to get healthy on the offensive line and getting some key players back on the field is the number one thing the Miami Dolphins need as they come out of the bye.
