Trent Williams was a sight for very sore eyes on Thursday as he finally returned to practice for the San Francisco 49ers ahead of their Week 10 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Williams, the Niners' All-Pro left tackle, has missed the last two games with an ankle injury that he suffered and battled through in the Week 6 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

San Francisco suffered two further defeats in his absence to drop to 5-3, the 49ers suffering from pass protection breakdowns in crucial moments and struggling to get much out of their run game with swing tackle Jaylon Moore filling in for Williams in his absence.

Williams missed Monday's bonus practice and was also not out there on Wednesday, though that is typically a day off for the nine-time Pro Bowler, but he was seen on the field with a helmet for the section of Thursday's practice open to the media.

His presence will be crucial as the Niners look to get back to winning ways against a Jaguars defense ranked third in the NFL by Expected Points Added per play.

The 49ers are three-point favorites to improve to 6-3 with victory in Jacksonville.
