The New Orleans Saints have a move that is right in front of them after the latest Arizona Cardinals news.

On Thursday afternoon, the Cardinals waived veteran running back Tony Jones Jr. from the 53-man roster. The Saints should swoop in and pick up the experienced back that has played for them as recently as this season.

Jones Jr. had two touchdowns for the Saints in their 20-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers earlier this season. He's a good depth option at RB.

Additionally, rookie RB Kendre Miller is dealing with an injury currently. He missed practice on Thursday and may miss some time with an ankle issue.

The addition wouldn't affect the workload of Alvin Kamara or Jamaal Williams, but it would give New Orleans a bit more proven depth behind them in case of injury. Jones Jr. could be a smart free-agent add at this point of the season for the Saints.
