Carolina Panthers rookie Bryce Young doesn't have many people in his corner currently.
But there is still one unlikely name that believes in him: Kirk Herbstreit. Recently, on the Pat McAfee Show, Herbstreit took a shot at the Panthers while celebrating the clear talent Young possesses.
"A quarterback is a product of the system he plays in and the people he has around him,' Herbstreit said. "They are in a transitional mode… They don't have the personnel to run the kind of offense they want to run with Bryce Young. To me, you need to pump the breaks on giving up on Bryce Young or thinking he sucks."
The lack of offensive production falls on the shoulders of Frank Reich. He hasn't had the Panthers ready to play in nearly every game.
Still, Young isn't completely blameless. He has struggled to push the ball downfield and make quick decisions.
All in all, the Panthers are a mess. And Young is struggling as a result of it. On the year, Young has completed 62.8% of his passes for 1,560 yards eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
In his last game, Young wasn't exactly impressive either. Young completed 21 of his 38 passing attempts for 185 yards and no touchdowns in the outing.
