College football is the most insane sport. And we're reminded of that nearly every week.
If the wild sign stealing scandal at Michigan isn't enough proof, then just take a look at what happened during an Arkansas football game this past weekend.
At halftime of the Razorbacks' blowout loss to Auburn, some players checked out the classic Christmas movie "The Polar Express".
Video of the movie playing in the locker room made the rounds on social media over the weekend.
According to Rivals.com's Mason Choate, the movie was actually played in the "redshirt locker room" which is not attached to the main locker room (I'll admit that I've never heard of a redshirt locker room before).
On Monday, Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman, a former Tennessee Vols/Georgia Bulldogs assistant coach, addressed the incident and he explained the "redshirt locker room".
"In our locker room, I want to reward our kids by letting them run through the “A” if they practice well," said Pittman (via HawgBeat.com). "So we don’t have enough lockers in our main locker to house all the kids. So, some of them have to go in a separate locker. In a separate door to the locker."
"And so, the young man I’ve already addressed it with him," added Pittman. "He made a mistake….that’s a team rule, you can’t have your (phone). But it’s also a team rule that you don’t post anything after Friday night, after we leave on Friday."
"So the young man made a mistake. Sent it to a friend, friend sent it to his brother. Add on what have you. I’ve already addressed it and I think we’re fine there. It was just a mistake that I think a young man made and I wish he wouldn’t have. He came in and was very sorry for it, was remorseful for it, so we’re going to move on."
Pittman is already having a tough season with Arkansas at 3-7 through 10 games, so I'm sure the last thing he wanted to do on a Monday was explain why a Christmas movie was being played at halftime by one of his players.
