The Dallas Cowboys (6-3) will face the Carolina Panthers (1-8) on the road for a Week 11 match-up in which they are 10.5-point favorites.
On paper, the match-up should be an easy one for them. But 'tis the NFL and nothing is a given.
The Cowboys walk into this one with an overall healthy roster as every player seemed ready to go by Friday's final injury report. However, the offense seemed to hit a speedbump on Saturday when Rico Dowdle was downgraded to questionable with an ankle injury. Let's dive into the official list of inactive players.
Cowboys inactives vs. Panthers,
- RB Deuce Vaughn
- OT Asim Richards
- CB Noah Igbinoghene
- CB Eric Scott Jr.
- QB Trey Lance (emergency quarterback)
The Cowboys avoided a last-minute scare following reports of Dowdle suffering an ankle injury on Saturday. He's active and will play following a big-time performance where he averaged 6.6 yards per rush attempt against the New York Giants in Week 10.
With Dowdle ready to go, Vaughn is the inactive running back.
Other key notes on Week 11 inactive
- As expected, KaVontae Turpin is back as the Cowboys' returner for this one. Look for that to be relevant against the 3rd best special teams unit per DVOA.
- Once again, the Cowboys are not giving Lance the nod over Cooper Rush. At this point, against an opponent they could very well blow out, it's pretty fair to assume Lance is staying as QB3 the rest of the way barring any injury.
- DE Viliami Fehoko Jr. was inactive for the first nine games of the season but he's now on Injured Reserve. That's the reason for his not being listed above.
