The Buffalo Bills needed this win, badly. Over the past few weeks, the offense and special teams have looked anemic. While the defense has balled out, it's the offense that's been the biggest issue.
Newly promoted offensive coordinator Joe Brady has to love what the team was able to do on the football field today. In fact, Brady went viral after a huge play in which he could be seen saying some not-so-safe-for-work comments in the booth.
Nevertheless, the offense shined which gives the Bills Mafia a big reason to celebrate. Allen had another premiere performance, dissecting the Jets defense all evening to the tune of 275 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. One of which was an 81-yard passing touchdown to Khalil Shakir, who has seen his production skyrocket in recent weeks.
What's more, Allen found a way to make NFL history in the victory. To add a little extra spice to it, he beat out Patrick Mahomes in doing so. With his touchdowns this afternoon, Allen now has the most touchdowns in a player's first six seasons.
Mahomes has the championships and MVP trophies, but Allen's resume shouldn't be overlooked. Unfortunately, he has a nasty tendency to give the ball to the opposing team. Now we fully understand Mahomes has the championships and MVP trophies, but Allen's resume shouldn't be overlooked.
Josh Allen, when drafted, was already called a bust before he even took a single snap. From his lack of playing in big games to question marks surrounding his accuracy, he had a tough hill to climb. Now, years later, Allen has done the unthinkable and has cemented himself in the NFL history books for the most passing TDs in a player's first six seasons. Going from someone who was said to be a bust to dismantling one of the very best QBs in NFL history in Patrick Mahomes, the legend of Josh Allen just continues to grow.
The team will live and die by Josh Allen who seems to put up points in bunches almost every single game, even when the offense is struggling. On top of the most touchdowns, Allen also surpassed Jim Kelly for the most consecutive games with a passing touchdown.
The legacy of Josh Allen continues to build. We're excited to see where he lands among the all-time greats when he hangs up the cleats. For now, we're just happy the team got the victory.
