The Atlanta Falcons have decided on who they will start at quarterback against the New Orleans Saints in Week 12.

The Falcons are giving the reigns back to their original starter, Desmond Ridder, according to Ian Rapoport

"Sometimes you need a fresh perspective… That's what I think helped him. The reset, the refocus and working on things that I thought could help him, he's done that."

— Falcons HC Arthur Smith on Ridder

Ridder has not been the team's starter over the past two games. Taylor Heinicke started in his place after coming in for Ridder during the team's Week 8 game.

The Falcons lost both of those games. They will face the Saints in Week 12, and it is a very important matchup for both teams. New Orleans is looking to hold onto first place, while the Falcons can grab the top spot in the NFC South with a victory.

Ridder is 0-1 in his career against the Saints. In his action last season against them, he went 13/26 for 96 yards with no interceptions or touchdowns. He was sacked four times. He finished the game with a measly 59.3 QB rating.

New Orleans now knows which QB to game plan for when they face off against Atlanta on Sunday at noon central.

As for the Saints, Derek Carr or Jameis Winston will start at QB. That's unknown for now due to Carr's injuries. Atlanta must prepare for both until the starter is announced.
