The Minnesota Vikings got the win over the Packers in Green Bay, but it may have come at a huge cost.
Kirk Cousins had to be carted to the locker room in the fourth quarter after suffering a non-contact injury. Jaren Hall came in the game in relief and a strong defensive performance allowed the Vikes to still come out on top.
Now, let's get into our takeaways from the win.
Kirk Cousins' injury overshadows the win
Cousins left the game in the fourth quarter after suffering a non-contact injury. Cousins had to be helped to the sideline and was unable to put any pressure on his leg. Eventually, the cart had to haul Cousins to the locker room.
If Cousins has to miss significant time, the Vikings may need to look elsewhere. Jaren Hall is the only other QB on the active roster after Nick Mullens was placed on injured reserve. Sean Mannion is on the practice squad, but the Vikes may prefer to go the trade route.
Regardless, our thoughts and prayers are with Cousins and we wish the QB a speedy recovery.
KJ Osborn and Jordan Addison are stepping up
Osborn and Addison combined for 14 catches and 187 yards and 1 TD. This is exactly the type of performance the Vikes need with Justin Jefferson still on IR.
With Cousins likely out for a while, the receivers will need to be more efficient than ever. This team will win a lot of games if they get performances like this from the No. 2 and No. 3 receiver.
The defense was dominant
The Vikings' defense held the Packers to under 300 total yards of offense. Jordan Love managed just 229 passing yards and threw an interception.
Perhaps the most impressive stat was the third down defense. The Vikes only allowed the Packers to convert on 5-of-14 third down opportunities.
The Vikes run defense was rock-solid as well, as Love was the Packers' leading rusher with just 34 yards.

The Vikings’ win may be overshadowed by an injury.
