The Minnesota Vikings will be without Kirk Cousins for a while. Per Adam Schefter, the fear is that Cousins tore his achilles.
We already discussed some players the Vikings could trade for, but let's now take a look at some free agents that could make sense.
Nick Foles

Foles started 8 games in the NFC North for the Bears, so he’s familiar with the division. Foles also won a Super Bowl as the starting QB for the Eagles after coming in for an injured Carson Wentz. That big-game experience could be interesting to the Vikings, who likely still have playoff aspirations.
Foles started 2 games for the Colts last season and has remained on the market ever since. The veteran has plenty of experience and could be a nice stopgap option for the team.
Colt McCoy

McCoy was in the running for the starting QB job in Arizona, but he was beaten out by Joshua Dobbs. Since being released, McCoy has remained on the market.
McCoy has started 36 games for four different teams. Overall, the QB has 7,975 career passing yards with 34 TDs and 32 INTs. McCoy doesn't do anything that jumps off the screen, but he's a solid veteran who's been around the block. McCoy obviously doesn't have a high ceiling or anything, but his floor is probably higher than Jaren Hall's.
Carson Wentz

Wentz is the youngest of these options and would undoubtedly have the most potential. Wentz has started 92 games in his career, spending time with the Eagles, Colts, and Commanders.
Wentz has struggled to hold onto jobs due to his reckless style of play, but he has shown flashes of excellence at times. If the Vikings want a potential long-term solution, it's worth taking a shot on Wentz. The QB is still just 30 and is from nearby North Dakota. If Wentz came in and impressed, the Vikes could have a potential answer for next season if Cousins leaves in free agency.
Last season, Wentz started 7 games for the Commanders and finished with 1,755 yards, 11 TDs and 9 INTs. Those numbers aren't great, but this is still the same QB who received MVP votes in 2017.
