The New Orleans Saints will face the Chicago Bears in Week 9. The Saints are fresh off of a 38-27 victory against the Indianapolis Colts, while the Bears fell to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 8, 30-13.

Bears starting quarterback Justin Fields has been dealing with a thumb injury that has kept him out of action since he suffered the injury on October 15th versus the Minnesota Vikings. Rookie QB Tyson Bagent has replaced him since.

On Monday afternoon, Bears HC Matt Eberflus announced that Bagent will start for Chicago once again against the Saints on Sunday.

Fields remains week-to-week with his thumb injury.

Bagent struggled a bit against the Chargers, throwing two interceptions and zero touchdowns. He did rush for one TD against LA.

He's been a surprise to many as an undrafted free agent. He attended Shepherd University before making it to the NFL.

The Bears like him, but of course, he is limited. In three games this season, he's thrown for 477 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. He's ran for 27 yards and two TDs, too.

Bagent is not nearly the running threat to defenses like Fields, but the Saints should not underestimate him. He likes to throw the ball downfield, and the Bears have found some success with that this year.

The Saints need to take care of business in Week 9 against another backup QB.
