It's the final countdown towards the NFL trade deadline, and the Cincinnati Bengals are not expected to make any moves. That includes neither adding, nor trading away any players.

Wide receiver Tee Higgins is no exception, as the Bengals are not expected to move him at the deadline despite interest, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

This has been the Bengals' stance for a while now, going all the way back to earlier this year. Director of player personnel Duke Tobin made a strong statement regarding rumors of Higgins being made available for trade at the NFL Scouting Combine.

"I'm not in the business of making other teams better, I'm in the business of making the Cincinnati Bengals better," Tobin told reporters at the combine. "And so trading Tee Higgins is not on my mind. That's their problem. They want a receiver, go find your own."

That was then, and this is now. Nothing has changed despite Higgins' rough first seven games of the season, though he looked like his usual self against the San Francisco 49ers. He ended up with 69 yards on five key receptions, playing a big role in Joe Burrow's prolific performance in the 31-17 win.

Higgins' lack of production this year has likely diminished his value in terms of what the Bengals can get for him, which should discourage the Bengals from trading him even more at this juncture. Compile that with his encouraging game on Sunday, and Cincinnati's grip on the 24-year old receiver should be even tighter.

It's not going to happen, and you can take that to the bank.
