The Cleveland Browns need a bounce back in Week 9 against the Arizona Cardinals and they will be receiving some help.
After missing Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks, QB Deshaun Watson practiced every day this week and does not have an injury designation.
Three players have been ruled out for the game with the Cardinals. Not playing will be CB Greg Newsome, DE Alex Wright, and WR David Bell. The only player questionable is RT Dawand Jones, according to Kevin Stefanski.
Watson appeared in a couple of drives against the Indianapolis Colts after missing a couple of games with the shoulder injury. A tough hit that forced him to hit the ground is all it took for him to miss the remainder of that game and last week’s 24-20 loss. The hope is if he goes, he will be able to stay healthy out there.
With the way that Watson practiced, ramping up his throws each day, it sure looks like he is feeling better.
With Newsome out, it will be rookie CB Cam Mitchell in his place. Wide receivers Cedric Tillman and Marquise Goodwin will be relied on more with Bell out. If Jones can not go, James Hudson will start for him.
Full injury report will be available later today.
