Mike Vrabel was asked on Friday if he would commit to Will Levis as the Tennessee Titans' starting quarterback.
Despite Levis' strong play during his first two NFL starts, Vrabel was hesitant to anoint the former Kentucky standout as the starter moving forward.
Vrabel told reporters that he'll evaluate the depth chart over the weekend and let the media know the team's decision on Tuesday. He added that the decision will be based on who gives the team the best chance to win, though he acknowledged that the future of the position also has to be considered.
When asked further about the quarterback situation, Vrbael said he'd have a decision when Ryan Tannehill is healthy.
Tannehill has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury.
Levis completed 22-of-39 passes for 262 yards and one interception in the Titans' 20-16 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. That stat line doesn't tell the full story, as Levis played well and moved the ball down the field when he had time. But he was sacked four times by Pittsburgh's pass rush, which put the Titans' offense in some tough situations.
The Titans will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 10.
Mike Vrabel mentions scary detail about Treylon Burks’ injury
The team will continue to monitor Burks’ status, obviously.
