The Philadelphia Eagles have officially placed linebacker Nakobe Dean on injured reserve with a Lisfranc foot injury, the team announced on Thursday afternoon.
It's the second time this season that the Eagles have lost Dean to the injured reserve due to a foot injury.
This time, however, the injury was on his left foot and not his right, and he had to undergo surgery.
He will miss four weeks minimum.
In five games, Dean has 30 tackles, two tackles for loss, and half sack on the year so far.
He took to Instagram to share that the surgery was a success on Wednesday and earlier in the week, he thanked his supporters as he begins his journey toward a hopeful speedy recovery.
"I know I don’t vent much but, I thank God for the opportunity I have been afforded to play the game that I love and will never take that for granted. Season has been unfortunate having to deal with these injuries and missing games for the first time in my life, but through it all I stand grateful with my head held high. Know that I give nothing less than blood, sweat, and tears to this team, my supporters, and to this city, and it will only be amplified when I return. Thank you to all that support and show continuous love.🙏🏾"
The Eagles will lean on Nicholas Morrow and Zach Cunningham in Dean's absence.
