The AFC has been a bit of a mess this year, and while the Miami Dolphins have been far from perfect, they do hold one distinction in the conference that no other team does; they are undefeated at home.
For all the confusion across the league where parity has never appeared higher, this is at least one consistent that should bode well for the Dolphins when it comes time for the playoffs.
The other good news for Miami is that this doesn't appear close to changing tomorrow when they face the Raiders.
The Dolphins have been on a tear for most of this season. A Raiders team that just benched its starting quarterback and fired their head coach isn't going to change that-even if they have been playing better in recent weeks.
The Dolphins offense was already one of the hardest to stop in the league. That was before they had De'Von Achane back. Now, Miami is as close to 100% as they have been since the start of the season, and the Raiders are in for a tough day tomorrow.
Between the fact that the Raiders have one of the worst run defenses in the league and the weapons the Dolphins have on offense to test even the best defenses in the league through the air, it is going to be a rough day for the Raiders on defense, and their offense simply isn't up to the task of testing this Dolphins defense.
You never want to count your chickens before they hatch, but it is going to be a bad day for the Raiders in all the areas that matter the most, and that is always going to be the case for a team that plays the Dolphins.
The home-field advantage in Miami is very much real, and games like this against frisky AFC playoff teams will end up paying off in the long run.
Dolphins are set to see a return of biggest battle on the team
The competition is going to heat up again.
