Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has seen almost everything that a quarterback can see in the NFL — including his teammate, tight end Travis Kelce, ending up in a (potential relationship) with Taylor Swift.

There are still a few things, however, that Mahomes hasn't experienced yet.

He'll mark one of those things off the list in Week 4 when the Chiefs take on the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football.

NBC Sports' Peter King pointed out in his weekly "Football Morning in America" column on Monday that Sunday night will be the first time that Mahomes has started a regular season NFL game in New York/New Jersey.

From NBC Sports: Now here’s an oddity. In 43 road starts over his seven NFL seasons, Patrick Mahomes has never played in the swamps of Jersey. Mahomes, debuting finally in NYC/NJ. That’s a weird one. This might not be much of a game, given the great Zach Wilson experiment with the Jets.

Mahomes previously played against the Jets in Kansas City in 2020 (Chiefs won 35-9) and against the Giants in 2021 (KC beat the Giants 20-17 in 2021, a year to the day after beating the Jets).

While this will be Mahomes' first time taking the field in New York as a starting NFL quarterback (well, technically in New Jersey), it won't be his first on-field experience with pro sports in the Big Apple.

When Mahomes was a kid, his dad, Pat Mahomes, was a pitcher for the New York Mets for two seasons (1999 and 2000). Patrick was often seen on the field before games during those days, shagging fly balls and interacting with his dad's teammates.

There's a famous photo, which you can see below, that shows Mahomes catching fly balls during batting practice during an off day in the 2000 World Series between the Mets and the New York Yankees.

By the way, since the game is in primetime in New York, it wouldn't be a surprise if there's another Swift sighting.
