The Buffalo Bills told the NFL that their win over the Las Vegas Raiders was not a fluke, and that the team is legit and ready to take the league by storm.
While Allen didn't put up historic numbers, he had time in the pocket to dissect the defense and the team walked away with a dominant victory over the Washington Commanders.
Perhaps the biggest storyline from the contest was that of LB Terrel Bernard who not only led the team in tackles but had an interception and two sacks to add to his day. In just 3 weeks, Bernard was able to surpass season-highs from former LB Tremaine Edmunds in both interceptions and sacks.
Immediately after the contest, Allen spoke to the media about how impressive the linebacker has been in his short NFL career. Once again, Allen turned heads in an interview, perfectly showcasing his leadership on and off the field.
Allen first gave a shoutout to his entire defense, "Our guys work so hard." Allen continued, specifically talking about Bernard's rise this season. "Watching TB, he's so young, obviously it's his second year here and he's been asked to do a lot. You know, starting middle linebacker."
The franchise QB finished with eyes set on the future, a message that should terrify opposing defenses, "But, he's been answering the bell and it's been fun to watch. He's only going to continue to get better."
When you have the franchise QB and a man who wears the weight of the city on his shoulders singing your praise, you know you've done a good job. While it's only been 3 weeks, the future is bright for Bernard on this defense.
Onto Miami.
Bills’ gamble on Terrel Bernard already paying off in a big way
The Buffalo Bills win over the Washington Commanders proved to be much more than a normal victory. In the win, Buffalo answered one of the biggest offseason questions.
