Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is on track to play tonight's game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Per Cincinnati.com's Kelsey Conway, Burrow is set to give it a go tonight barring a setback.
Burrow, who tweaked his right calf last Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, went through a workout this morning to test how he was doing. The Athletic's Diana Russini reported Monday morning that Burrow's workout from the morning went well and that there was "optimism he will play."
It was the final real roadblock getting in the way of Burrow suiting up for a critical third game as the 0-2 Bengals look to keep their season alive. The fourth-year quarterback supposedly passed the test, but the battle is far from over.
Burrow will still have to get the final green light to suit up tonight and actually make it through the entire game. He nearly made it unscathed last week before the last two plays of the drive saw him limp off the field. It's an image the Bengals are surely thinking about as game time inches closer and closer.
Ultimately, if there was ever a chance Burrow could play with the season on the line, the safe bet was always going to be him taking the field. It's looking like that will be the case tonight.
Walking through the Bengals’ plan at quarterback for Monday Night Football
Cincinnati has a major decision to make today.
