The Indianapolis Colts may not have left Week 1 with a win, but one player's performance may have caught the attention of the league office.
Colts LB Zaire Franklin shared on his personal X (Twitter) account Monday that the NFL had selected him for a random drug test following his 18-tackle season debut Sunday.
Franklin had a tremendous 2023 season debut as he finished the game with 18 total tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 1 pass deflection. Franklin seemed to be in good spirits about being randomly selected to be drug tested after his strong Week 1 performance as he commented on his original post, joking that his selection to be drug tested may not have been so random.
All jokes aside, Franklin now will head into Week 2 of the NFL season 2nd in the NFL in total tackles with 18. Only trailing All-Pro Seattle Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner, who had 19 total tackles Week 1 in his team's matchup with the Los Angeles Rams.
