The Cincinnati Bengals have added a former fan favorite to their practice squad in wide receiver Kendric Pryor.
Pryor, a college free agent signee of the Bengals in 2022, becomes the 16th and newest member of the practice squad a day after the team released quarterback Reid Sinnett.
As a rookie last year, Pryor captured the attention of many Bengals fans during preseason action. He racked up 182 receiving yards and a touchdown on 13 receptions while playing in all three preseason games in 2022.
Pryor was one of the Bengals' final cuts and a target to be retained on the practice squad, but the Jacksonville Jaguars claimed him on waivers. He would spend his rookie season on the Jaguars' 53-man roster, but did not see game action. He was waived by Jacksonville during final cuts this offseason.
Not only is Pryor back in a Bengals uniform, his return comes at an opportune time. Rookie wide receiver Charlie Jones is currently on the Reserve/Injured list and starter Tee Higgins is dealing with a rib fracture that may cause him to miss this week's game against the Arizona Cardinals. This leaves the Bengals with four healthy receivers on the 53-man roster.
The Bengals also have three other receivers on the practice squad in Kwamie Lassiter II, who battled with Pryor last offseason, rookie Shedrick Jackson, and veteran Stanley Morgan Jr. If they elevate a receiver to the active roster this week, odds are one them will get the call over Pryor.
