The Philadelphia Eagles have made four roster moves ahead of Week 3's road match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, including re-signing linebacker Kyron Johnson.
The move comes after the Seattle Seahawks signed TE Brady Russell off of the Eagles' practice squad which left room for Johnson, according to NBC Sports' Dave Zangaro.
Johnson originally joined the Eagles as a sixth-round pick out of Kansas in 2022.
He played in 16 regular-season games as a rookie, spending most of his time on special teams. Johnson missed the end of training camp due to an appendectomy and didn't make it through final roster cuts.
Johnson is a jack-of-all-trades kind of player and has past experience playing all along the front seven in college at inside linebacker, outside linebacker, nickel linebacker, strongside rusher, defensive end and gunner.
He's a solid emergency depth piece that the Eagles should keep around in case they take more hits to their linebacker group.
In addition to Johnson, the Eagles also placed starting nickel Avonte Maddox on injured reserve, signed wide receiver/punter return Britain Covey to their active roster and signed running back Bryant Koback to the practice squad.
