The Buffalo Bills have their franchise QB in Josh Allen. Despite the criticisms he faced after the Week 1 loss, Allen bounced back in a big way with a premiere performance against the Las Vegas Raiders.
With the victory, Josh Allen was able to secure AFC Offensive Player of the Week, an award that the Bills QB has won 11 times throughout his short NFL career. In fact, from 2018-2023 Allen has won the award more times than Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow.
What's more, Allen has now surpassed Jim Kelly for the most player of the week awards in team history, with plenty of fuel left in the tank. We understand Kelly is a Hall of Famer and Allen has a long way to go to surpass him in team history, but he just keeps breaking records that the former Bills QB held.
Allen securing the Offensive Player of the Week award even took him by surprise as he thought he didn't put up insane numbers to win the award. While Mahomes has MVP and Super Bowl champ by his name, Allen found a way to one-up him in this specific category without saying a single word.
The Bills franchise QB is doing everything he can to bring the city its first-ever Super Bowl trophy, and games like his previous one are exactly why the fanbase thinks it'll happen, eventually.
Allen has been a dominant QB since joining the team despite all the question marks surrounding his accuracy issues in college. The Bills superstar has spent his career shutting down critics and proving everyone wrong.
When critics thought the Bills were done, and that Allen couldn't lead the team to victory, he bounced back with a performance deserving of Offensive Player of the Week. Just another day in the office for Allen. Breaking records and reminding the world that he's that dude.
You love to see it.
