The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a mixed bag on the ground so far this year.
Rachaad White and Sean Tucker have both received the majority of the touches as the RB1 and RB2 and have seen highs and lows through the first two weeks.
Chase Edmonds has looked decently-consistent when he was on the field, but an injury against the Bears will likely send him to IR for a chunk of the season, creating a new need in Tampa.
As it stands, Edmonds is likely out for 4-6 weeks, and no one should be comfortable that this team is in a position to stay put at RB based on what we have seen.
This does likely mean that Ke'Shawn Vaughn could become active as he edges into the RB3 role on merit of health alone, but that doesn't really fill the need for Tampa in a way that inspires confidence.
The Bucs need another back that they can count on, and that likely means going off the roster to fill the hole Edmonds creates.
Assuming that happens, expect the Bucs to make a free agent signing or a trade soon to fill the small but important role that Edmonds fills.
Hopefully he heals up fast.
