The Buffalo Bills, once again, found themselves in hot water. Not everything was sunshine and rainbows from their victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in their home opener.
For each home game, Buffalo selects a legend of the game who will give a little speech and sometimes run out of the tunnel with the team. It's both to get the Bills Mafia fired up and pay tribute to players from the past.
Takeo Spikes was the latest legend that was selected for the home opener. Spikes had spent 15 years in the NFL and blossomed in Buffalo, seeing some of his best seasons throughout his long career. In 2004, he was named an All-Pro and a Pro Bowler while finishing the season with five interceptions, two pick-sixes, and four forced fumbles.
Spikes was beloved in Buffalo, which makes what the team did to him that much worse. The talented linebacker was put in a suite with his view clearly blocked by the stairs, and he wasn't happy.
In his message, Spikes first congratulated the team before calling them out. His message read, "Congrats to @BuffaloBills for getting a dominant win in home opener. I wish I could've stayed for the entire game but seating accommodations were NOT the standard. How you gonna have the @NFLLegends supporting with this obstructed sample size of a view?! Felt like I was in timeout."
The organization has been front and center with a myriad of controversies this offseason, and this unfortunately throws them back into the national spotlight, for all the wrong reasons.
Take care of your own, especially legends of the game.
Bills’ Gabe Davis problem gets worse with each passing week
The Buffalo Bills were firing on all cylinders in their win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Now, it appears they have a big issue on their hands in the WR room, and it’s not Stefon Diggs.
