The Green Bay Packers are trying to avoid their second consecutive loss of the young 2023 season, so it's key that they get as healthy as possible before hosting the New Orleans Saints.
Wednesday's practice offered a little bit of good news, but overall, not much has changed. Per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman, Christian Watson was seen practicing during media availability but star running back Aaron Jones was not on the field. He did warm up with the team inside with a helmet on, however, before the team went outside. His overall situation is still in limbo, obviously.
It's good news for Watson because he's now participated in the last two practices, regardless of his designation. He's nowhere near guaranteed to play against the Saints, but this development puts him on track to do so, at least.
As expected, Elgton Jenkins sat out because of the sprained MCL he suffered during Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Monday that David Bakhtiari's knee was injured, which is probably why he didn't practice Wednesday, either. That, or it was a rest day.
We will provide updates once LaFleur speaks to the media after practice and once the Packers release the official injury report at 4pm ET.
Packers’ strength is now a major question mark
The Packers have suffered some key injuries in the first two weeks of the season.
