The New Orleans Saints are receiving another suspension from the NFL.
This time, it is for veteran safety Marcus Maye. Maye has been suspended without pay for the next three games for violating the NFL Policy on Substances of Abuse.
Maye can return to the Saints' active roster on Monday, October 9th.
This suspension means that he will miss the next three games of the Saints' season. The decision stems from Maye's DUI arrest before he signed his deal with the Saints.
For the Saints, they could increase the role of rookie safety Jordan Howden. Additionally, expect Ugo Amadi to see the field a bit more as well as an experienced defensive back in multiple roles. J.T. Gray could see more defensive snaps as well.
Maye has struggled in the first two games of the season, so it will be intriguing to see how the depth compares to him over the next few games. New Orleans could add another defensive back from free agency, too.
