The Seattle Seahawks have been rising as one of the better teams in the NFC for a while now.
After coming into the season as a clear riser during the offseason, a 2-1 record with a win against the Lions has the Seahawks seated comfortably in a prime seat for the playoff race.
After the Lions destroyed Green Bay through most of the game last night, that win for the Seahawks looks even better.
We get that a loss to a weaker Rams team in Week 1 is going to cause concerns. We also get that a win against the Panthers isn't going to sell anyone on the idea that this team can compete. However, the Lions are a different story entirely.
Detroit is unquestionably one of the best teams in the NFL. A win against them is its own thing entirely.
You can doubt a lot on an NFL resume, but the first month of the season has shown us that the Lions are legit, and beating them requires a quality game plan and immense talent.
The Seahawks were able to win that game, which says a lot on its own, but that win becomes even more impressive when you acknowledge the fact that Seattle was still playing without Jamal Adams and the roster was far from 100%.
That didn't matter. Seattle was able to escape that game with a win, and as both teams keep winning, the case for Seattle becomes all the better-especially when the Lions keep destroying teams (don't let a ball-control-oriented second-half box score distract you).
The Seattle Seahawks are legit. Each week keeps making that more and more clear, and as the hype grows for the Lions, the Seahawks start to look all the better.

It’s coming back together now.
