The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are heading into a game tomorrow against a major rival that has still not named a starting quarterback.
Yes, you read that right. The Saints, a team that came into the season as a dark horse candidate to make a deep run in the playoffs for some, has not been able to make a decision between an injured Derek Carr or Jameis Winston.
The Buccaneers can assuredly make the most of that.
Indecision is rarely a good thing in professional sports. Even if you are left with two bad choices, picking one and committing to it fully is better than trying to wait for the decisions to make themselves for you.
That is what the Saints are trying to do. For whatever reason, it seems as though the Saints are hoping that Carr will be good enough to play against the Bucs, but that shows several flaws in New Orleans' thinking.
One, it is clear that Nola has no faith in Jameis Winston. If they did, Carr being hurt to the point that he was questionable the night before the game wouldn't be an issue. The Saints would merely let it ride with Winston.
The second clear fact is that it is almost impossible that Carr will be at 100% tomorrow, something that the Bucs are sure to exploit if he does take the field.
Either way, the Buccaneers are either going into a game against a quarterback the team doesn't have faith in or a quarterback that won't be playing at the best of his ability. Either way, Tampa will take that.
