A wide receiver that once had a huge game against the Tennessee Vols appears to be heading toward the NCAA transfer portal.
247Sports reported on Thursday that South Carolina Gamecocks wide receiver Antwane Wells is planning to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer.
Wells missed most of the 2023 season due to a foot injury, but he had a productive season in 2022.
The Virginia native caught 63 passes for 898 yards and six touchdowns in 2022. One of his best games of the season came in South Carolina's upset win against Tennessee. Wells caught 11 passes for 177 yards in the Gamecocks' 25 point win against the Vols. He followed up his big game against Tennessee with nine receptions for 131 yards and two touchdowns in a win against Clemson.
Wells started his college career at James Madison before landing with South Carolina in 2022.
