Midway through the fourth quarter down 33-21, Carr took a hard hit that resulted in a roughing the passer penalty on the Detroit Lions.
Carr was noticeably shaken up and helped off the field with a clear injury.
The Saints QB is in concussion protocol. He is also being looked at for shoulder/back injuries.
Carr was taken to the locker room shortly after being removed from the game. The trainer was holding Carr's arm as he walked gingerly off the field.
Before leaving, the Saints starter had completed fifteen passes in a row. His stat line was 17/22 for 226 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Jameis Winston has replaced him at QB for the Saints.
