The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to fully benefit from their extra rest day.

NBC Sports' Dave Zangaro reports that starting safety Reed Blankenship should be able to clear concussion protocol by the time the Eagles take the field on Monday Night Football.

Blankenship exited Week 14's loss to the Dallas Cowboys early in the second quarter. after was slow to get up following a tackle on Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.

Blankenship headed to the locker room and he was officially ruled out after the half with a concussion.

He had three tackles before leaving the game.

As the team's lead tackler, Blankenship's return from concussion protocol will be huge for a struggling Eagles defense that is especially weak in the secondary.
