With the Steelers potentially down to a group of backup linebackers, the team is elevating Kyron Johnson from the practice squad for the second week in a row:

With only one elevation left, this game may be critical for his future with the team:

Pittsburgh's Trust Tree

The Steelers elevated linebacker Kyron Johnson from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive Roster for Thursday night's game against the New England Patriots at Acrisure Stadium. Johnson will revert back to the practice squad after the game.

Johnson was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 10. He was also activated for the Week 13 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Teresa Varley, Steelers.Com

Pittsburgh choosing to elevate Johnson for the second time over Jack, (who started all last year for the team) tells you how confident they are in Johnson.

That bodes well for his future with the team, but it may also point to the fact that injured LB, and "QB of the defense" as Mike Tomlin called him, Elandon Roberts may be suiting up.

We will know for sure who's in and who's out when inactives are announced in a couple of hours.
