The Philadelphia Eagles were down 31-28 against the Buffalo Bills with 30 seconds left to go in regulation.
That was until Jake Elliott nailed a 59-yard field goal to bring the game into overtime.
Philly went on to beat Buffalo 37-31.
The Eagles would have never gotten that second chance at life if it weren't for Elliott's reliable leg.
It was still raining when Elliott got into position to kick. Some players and coaches looked away, while DeVonta Smith followed "Chicken Little's" (his nickname for Elliott) kick all the way through the goal post.
"I’m watching," Smith said. "If you don’t watch, it’s because you’re scared of what may happen. I know it’s money, so I’m gonna watch it."
Elliott has now been successful on 6 of 7 field goal attempts from 50 yards or more this season.
When Elliott lined up, visions of his 54-yard game-winner earlier this season against the Washington Commanders flashed in head coach Nick Sirianni's mind.
"Nobody I’d rather have in the NFL more than Jake Elliott," Sirianni said post-game. "Shoot, to me he’s the best kicker in the NFL. He’s so clutch. He’s so clutch, right? I guess thoughts of the Washington game were in my mind, right? We actually showed that clip yesterday. We went through the room and talked to everybody about the contribution. I couldn’t hit everybody. I hit about 25 guys about the contribution that they’re going to have to make for us to win this game."
Unlike Smith, Sirianni didn't watch Elliott's kick.
"I didn’t watch it," Sirianni added. "I still didn’t watch it. I had to get Clay [Special Teams Coordinator Michael Clay] and Fletch [DT Fletcher Cox] pointing at me that he made it. Man, he’s clutch. Glad he’s our kicker."
