2024 four-star Tennessee Vols commit Braylon Staley was described by 247Sports as an "alpha dog" after his performance at Shrine Bowl practices this week.

Staley, 6-foot/180 lbs from Johnston, SC, impressed during practices on Monday as he reportedly "dominated" one-on-one situations.

247Sports' Andrew Ivins pointed out that Staley can "attack leverage" and track the football well over his shoulder, which seemingly makes him a perfect fit in Josh Heupel's unique up-tempo offense (knowing how to attack leverage is key to a wide receiver's success in Tennessee's scheme).

From 247Sports: He dominated 1-on-1s and caught more balls than anyone else when South Carolina went 11-on-11 to close out practice. Staley might not be the biggest target (he’s probably right under 6-foot), but he’s quick-footed and can attack leverage with his long speed. He also tracks the football better than most and made a pair of nice snags over his shoulder. Staley, who captured gold medals this past spring in both the 200-meter dash and the triple jump, is coming off a senior campaign at Strom Thurmond where he caught 69 passes for 1,116 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Staley has been committed to Tennessee since late June.

South Carolina has worked to flip Staley late during the recruiting cycle, but the Palmetto State native appears to be locked into his commitment to Tennessee (he's set to officially sign with the Vols when the early signing period begins next week).

Staley is rated by 247Sports as the No. 25 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of South Carolina.
