The Indianapolis Colts are officially in offseason mode.
And to get it started, they announced multiple roster moves.
These roster moves included the Colts signing nine players to reserve/future contracts, four players to one-year extensions, and waiving one player.
Reserved/Future contract:
- Austin Ajiake
- Liam Anderson
- Tyrei Cleveland
- Marcel Dabo
- Ethan Fernea
- Arlington Hambright
- Jordan Murray
- Zavier Scott
- Eric Tomlinson
The Colts signed nine players to reserved/future contracts. Meaning they each will get to enter training with the team and battle for a spot on their 53 man roster. Multiple have been on the team's practice squad throughout this season; LB Liam Anderson, DB Marcel Dabo, WR Ethan Fernea, OG/OT Arlington Hambright, and OT Jordan Murray.
One-Year Extensions:
- Darrell Baker Jr.
- Trebor Denbow
- Cameron McGrone
- Segun Olubi
Of the Colts four extensions, two stand out. CB Darrell Baker Jr. and LB Segun Olubi both agreed to one-year extensions to remain with the Colts. Baker Jr. and Olubi were key rotational defensive players this season, and both had to fill in as starters at different times during the season. They both will enter training camp again with the Colts, where they will attempt to cement their roles with the team.
Waived:
- Tony Brown
The Colts elected to waive DB Tony Brown. Brown had been a significant contributor to the team's special teams unit over the last couple of years. This season, the team suspended Brown along with WR Isaiah McKenzie for "conduct detrimental to the team". Yet the team only choose to waive Brown following the end of the season. This leads me to believe that Brown played a bigger role in their suspension than McKenzie.
Should the Indianapolis Colts re-sign Michael Pittman Jr.?
Deciding which of the Indianapolis Colts in-house free agents should be re-signed, and which should be allowed to walk out the door.
