While we still don't know if the Las Vegas Raiders will make the playoffs or not, we do know that the team that has played since the hiring of Antonio Pierce as the interim head coach is a completely different team than the one we saw in Week 1, or even Week 8, for that matter.

The team is a different one because of how they approach the game, but also because of how they have played. They have completely taken the Raider way culture and turned it into their own. They got rid of the Patriots way stuff McDaniels was trying to do. Now, this is all silver and black.

One thing this team has also done that you hope can carry over into next year is build chemistry. They have become one of the closer, tight-knit groups you will see in the league. They have built such a powerful chemistry that one player, who is still somewhat new and acquired about mid-way through the season, is saying this is the best chemistry he has had on any team he has been a part of.

"No. No. It's not even close," cornerback Jack Jones said on Friday. "It's not even close. This right here, this is a family. And it's real. This is a family. And it's real."

Jones is, in a way, throwing shade at his former teams when you think about it. Every team he has ever been a part of, whether it be in college or the NFL, he has been with longer than he has been with the Raiders, so I said something.

He finished 8-9 with the New England Patriots last season and had two 8-5 seasons in college at Arizona State, so you can't necessarily say that the chemistry is better because this team is winning and is better. It really shows how different this team is and how much these guys all love each other. That's a big reason why this defense is playing so well, including the fact that Jones is as well, as he shut down the magic act that is Patrick Mahomes.
